BALTIMORE -- The Cleveland Indians have optioned right-hander Carlos Carrasco to Triple-A Columbus and recalled pitcher T.J. House from the same minor league club. The 23-year-old House is poised to make his major league debut, and he couldnt be more excited. Before Mondays game against the Orioles, House said when he learned of the promotion, "It kind of floored me a little bit." He immediately called his mother, and House expects to be joined by family and friends in Baltimore on Tuesday morning. House will pitch out of the bullpen. Of his debut, he says, "Im just going to soak it up and enjoy it." House was originally selected by Cleveland in the 16th round in of the 2009 draft. Semin scored two goals in the third period to lift the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. It was Semins first two-goal game with Carolina, which signed the Russian forward in July 2012, and then gave him a $35 million, five-year extension last March. His seventh and eighth goals of the season came a day after general manager Jim Rutherford told a local TV station that he was disappointed in Semins production. "Hes one of the best talents in the world, and when he plays hard, hes one of my favourite players to watch," teammate Riley Nash said. "Its a real treat to watch him, especially the way he played tonight." Semin has been criticized for not playing hard at times, but he had eight shots against Florida and finished with a plus-two rating. Semin rarely speaks with the media and declined to talk once again after the victory over the Panthers.
